In a sport that has traditionally been more “individualistic” than individual, Elementa has chosen to nurture the social and socializing elements that can make the experience that much richer for both riders and the public in the stands. Hence, two important new team competitions have been introduced; these will take place on Sunday, the day that together with Saturday afternoon, draws the largest crowds.
The top seven finishers in the three non-professional categories on Friday will automatically qualify for the Non Pro Team Cup. Each of the teams will be made up of a non-pro, an intermediate non-pro and a limited non-pro, and the teams will be formed by drawing lots at a special Draw Party. After excluding the riders already selected for this first Team Cup, the top seven names of those remaining in the Non Pro rankings will be drawn to join one of the seven teams competing in the Global Team Cup, an absolute “first”, with teams being formed of an Open champion – the riders will be those placed among the top seven of the record-breaking $101,000 Open run on Saturday – a para reiner and a non-professional rider. A winning mix of adrenalin, competitiveness and solidarity designed to entertain and thrill everyone involved, riders and spectators alike.
